Gina is a Managing Director with BDO’s Nonprofit and Grantmakers Advisory practice, working exclusively with nonprofits and their funders. With more than 25 years of experience in the accounting profession, she is often part of a team dedicated to building internal financial capacity and also regularly provides customized one-on-one support.
As the rules and regulations for nonprofit accounting and reporting evolve and become more complex from both funder and recipient perspectives, Gina stays up to date on the changes, translating regulations into relatable terms and guiding nonprofits in continued compliance.
She enjoys sharing that experience working directly with nonprofits and also in the many regular trainings and workshops she conducts around the country. Previously, Gina spent 17 years dedicated to nonprofit and governmental accounting and auditing. Much of that work was, and continues to be, focused on helping board members and organization leaders understand their financial results and use that knowledge to drive efficiencies and make informed business decisions. She continues that effort in her personal time and in a volunteer capacity on nonprofit boards in her home state of Rhode Island.
